Wilderness Camp
A traverse of a classic lakeland route, with an overnight wilderness camp high in the mountains.
It's a balmy Wednesday evening in the Lake District, the office long since been left behind. The Blackberry doesn't have a signal, no matter how much you stretch it skyward. You and your team have the hill to yourself.
The sun is setting out towards the Irish sea … red sky at night shepherds delight.
Tasks: food, water, shelter allocated & complete. Your belly is full, the cool evening breeze refreshes your sun tanned face. You see the people around you in a different light; talking about nothing and everything. The shared exertion unspoken. The knowing laughs and nodding smiles echo.
The last light dips, the warmth of the tent calls, perhaps even a 'wee dram' pulls you into slumber. You wake to light, it's early. Last nights promise is upheld – the early riser kicks the stove into life. Breakfast is good, washing up is more than stacking the plates in the dish washer.
Life is simple. A destination, sustinence and shelter. Complexities become clear. Spirits are renewed. Friendship affirmed.
With Adventure Business School, your team can experience the pleasure of a wild camp.

Exercise details
Team will be split into two with a safety instructor assigned to each. The aim is to use given co-ordinates programmed in a hand held GPS to find the first secure box, which contains a small map, compass and basic instruction on macro and micro navigation. The next set of co-ordinates are also enclosed. Each team will then micro navigate to find a sealed bag containing lunch and further co-ordinates. The latest set of co-ordinates lead to a shelter where lunch can be enjoyed in comfort (located on the summit). Further micro navigation and clues will lead to the final set of numbers.
Returning to the accommodation, the combination will open a locked box containing a fun final exercise before celebrating with a beer in the bar, before the de-brief.

The roles are closely aligned to running a successful business. The Leader sets the vision, navigator ensures that milestones are identified. Compass ensures they are hit, the pace/coach ensures we're on track.
